SCHOLARSHIP FOR NIGERIANS AND AFRICANS 12,000 US DOLLARS BY BALDWIN FOUNDATION


The Franklin Mosher Baldwin Memorial scholarship is available for individuals who are from a developing country and want to get an advanced degree. Requirements for this scholarship position:
1. you must be from a developing country
2. you must have a home sponsor who is a member of the school where you are affiliated in your country as well as a host sponsor who is a member of the institution where you want to train.
The Baldwin scholarship is for a sum of 12,000 US dollars per year and is available to individuals from a developing country, in Nigeria or in Africa.

Gates Cambridge Scholarships are available students from developing countries wishing to study at the University of Cambridge. The scholarship covers the full cost of your Masters and PhD of any subject offered at the University of Cambridge, UK. All applicants for the scholarship apply for – and must gain – admission to the University of Cambridge.

Fellowships for Africa’s future researchers,

FELLOWSHIPS FOR AFRICA’S FUTURE RESEARCHERS, THE FUTURE AGRICULTURES CONSORTIUM

Three types of awards are available:
1. Africa-based one-year fulltime post-Masters or post-doc appointment. Four positions are available for African researchers x £10,000 each.
2. Africa-based part-time post-Masters or post-doc appointment over one year. Three positions are available for African reseachers x £5,000 each.
3. UK-based six-month fulltime post-doc appointment. Two positions available x £12,500 each.
General Eligibility
Criteria Candidates should have no more than three years active post-Masters or post-doctoral experience at the time that their FAC Fellowship starts. Those who submitted their Masters dissertation or doctoral thesis more than three years before the date they wish to start their fellowship will not be eligible, except where the applicant has interrupted their career for family, health or other personal reasons.
Applications are invited from young researchers who have recently completed their degree in an appropriate development-related field, including agricultural or applied economics, anthropology, development studies, environmental science and policy (including climate change), gender studies, geography, political science, public administration, rural sociology, science and technology studies, etc.
The focus is on junior candidates early in their careers with a strong interest in conducting research on agricultural policy issues in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Please note that awards 1 and 2 are open to African researchers only. Award 3 is open to applicants seeking to do post-doc work on African agricultural policy from a UK base.
Eligible women candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.

MEDICINE/ SURGERY SHOLARSHIP IN CUBA
Scholarship exists for Undergraduates in Medicine and Surgery in Cuba. The Latin American School of Medical Sciences usually offers scholarships for undergraduate students to study medicine in Cuba yearly. To apply for this scholarship, you must be high school graduate, and be between the ages of 18 to 25 years old, and you must be from a disadvantaged background. You do not have to know how to speak Spanish before applying. The scholarship is awarded to 500 students each year. The program is for Six years, with two semesters per year. To get this scholarship, go to the Cuban Diplomatic Mission in Nigeria to pick the form. The details of the Embassy are below.
